As a Bakery & Pastry Sous Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pastry department, including the preparation and production of baked goods, desserts, and other sweet treats. You will work closely with the Executive Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Main Responsibilities

Plan and oversee daily production schedules and ensure that all baked goods and desserts are prepared and served on time and to the highest standards
Develop new and innovative pastry recipes and menu items
Train and supervise pastry staff, providing guidance and support as needed
Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stored
Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed
Maintain a clean and organized pastry kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations
Assist the Executive Chef with menu planning and other culinary tasks as needed

Main Requirements

3+ years of experience in a similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel
Excellent knowledge of pastry techniques and ingredients
Strong leadership and management skills
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred
